Jonathan Hazlett

Jonathan is the Managing Director of Open Trustees and is fully accredited as a professional trustee by the Association of Professional Pension Trustees.

Jonathan sits as the professional independent trustee on a wide range of pension schemes which are either ongoing in nature, or going through the Pension Protection Fund’s (“PPF”) assessment period. As a professional trustee Jonathan sits as either a board member, trustee chairperson or sole trustee and is highly respected in the industry for his professional and pragmatic approach to trusteeship.

An experienced trustee and lawyer. Jonathan has particular expertise in day to day advisory work, scheme journey planning, liability management exercises, scheme governance and scheme documentation.

Jonathan has over 15 years’ experience as a professional trustee and has been a qualified lawyer for over 20 years. He is also head of Osborne Clarke’s pensions team and was previously a member of the Department for Work and Pensions steering committee on incentive exercises.
