Paul Matthews

Paul is a Director of Open Trustees and is fully accredited as a professional trustee by the Association of Professional Pension Trustees. Paul sits as trustee chairperson and sole trustee on his current appointments.

Paul specialises in ongoing schemes and scheme wind-ups with solvent employers. He has particular expertise in scheme documentation reviews, scheme governance, investment reviews and liability management exercises. Paul’s wider work includes scheme mergers, benefit changes, winding-up and regulatory compliance, as well member communications.

Paul has been a director of Open Trustees since 2002 and is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers. He has advised on pensions-related matters for over twenty years having qualified as a lawyer in 1993. Paul was made a Partner of Osborne Clarke in 1999.
